While it isn?t a hoverboard, Marty McFly would be proud. It is an astounding skateboard that folds up. This astounding foldable skateboard is just the thing for the casual skateboarder who wants to get around town while doing their tricks on their skateboard. It is also rather sexy looking, and a person would look awesome in a suit skateboarding from one place to another.
There may be a few people who still consider the foldable skateboard as risky business. However, nobody ever said that skateboarding was the safest sport in the world. But, if the foldable should happen to fold up in the middle of a skateboard trick, it would be disastrous. This foldable skateboard probably looks considerably different than anything that you have seen or owned or before. While it moves and runs like a normal skateboard except that it will folds into three pieces so that it can be easily stored away when not being used for transportation. You can store this astounding skateboard in your backpack. This will add a considerable amount of comfort and style to your skateboarding experience, while you?re zipping around town and still provide the same thrill ride. It can also be stored in your closet, in your locker, or in your backpack. It seems to have an ideal balance of strength and flexibility, steers well, and has a smooth ride.
It is easy to ride the foldable skateboard. You only have to place the foot that you use the most on the front of the skateboard and rest the other or rear foot on the rear/tail of the skateboard and away you go. This astounding foldable skateboard is a real eye catcher and will catch the attention of everyone who sees it. It is also very easy to fold up and store away and even though it has so many parts it is very durable and will provide a very smooth ride.
Although there may be some hardcore skateboarders who won?t like the concept of a foldable skateboard, it is very portable and very practical. The concept of the foldable skateboard is actually quite ingenious. Although many people considered the art of skateboarding as a passing fad, it certainly didn?t turn out that way. These days, everything is becoming more and more portable. First it was mobile phones, then laptop computers, televisions, and now skateboards. It seems these days there is no limit to what somebody can make portable.
Overall, this astounding foldable skateboard is here to stay. That is until someone invents the hoverboard.

Governing Law on Trademark Infringement
When an entity violates an absolute right attributed to a registered trademark without proper approval from the owner of the trademark, then the said entity may be charged with trademark infringement.
A trademark which is similar or perplexingly the same as your trademark in connection with the goods or services you are promoting then an ?infringement? occurs.
Am Overview on Trademark Law
Any federal registered trademark may be safeguarded under the Lanham or Trademark Act. The Lanham Act is a law encompassing the federal ruling on trademark law in the United States.
The said act forbids actions which include dilution of trademark, bogus advertising, and trademark infringement.
Possibility of a Trademark Infringement Case
A trademark infringement is possible, if you will be able to prove that there is a ?possibility of confusion? between your trademark and the purportedly infringing mark. Such possibility of confusion will be determined through a ?trademark analysis,? wherein the following items will be analyzed:
? The structure of the mark, both interior and exterior. ? The connotation of the mark. The meaning can be explicit or implied. ? How the mark is pronounced will be reviewed as well. ? The relation of the infringing mark to the goods or services will also be analyzed. ? The impression of the public will also be assessed. Actual test impressions on the consumers may be done.
Trademark Infringement Penalty
The common penalty being given to a party who has been proven guilty of trademark infringement is ?injunction.? Injunction is a court regulation wherein it orders the party to avoid doing certain actions such as infringing marks. Contrary to the common belief, injunction is not a monetary judgment.

There are instances that ?monetary relief? is bestowed to a winning party. Such monetary respite may include the profit lost by the defendant, the claimants? sustained damages and the over-all cost of action.
?Trademark dilution,? can be sought by plaintiffs with well-known trademarks. By doing so, the infringed mark will not be further utilized. There are factors to consider for a trademark to be specified as ?famous? before an infringed mark will be blurred or tarnished.
Ways to Avoid Trademark Infringement
If you have been accused of trademark infringement, here are some recommended actions to undertake:
1. Do not copy. If you will be making a trademark, make sure that you do it with immense originality. It must be unique. 2. Search. The uniqueness of your trademark may be verified by doing ?trademark search.? Primarily, you can scout for used trademarks on the internet. There are a lot of ?trademark search website? which can help you on your endeavor. Secondly, spare some time to visit the Patent and Trademark Depository Library or PTDL to browse for possible similar trademarks that you have. The said library is situated to almost every state.
Another trademark search option is to consult with a trademark lawyer that may also be of help with your trademark search. Your lawyer may conduct a ?common law search.? It is a type of trademark search where government records are being checked to see if you have a similar trademark.
Ways to Protect Your Trademark
No one wants to be involved in the rigorous process of court proceedings. Hence, as a plaintiff, you need to perform actions to secure your ?mark.?
1. Register. It is highly recommended that you undergo a federal trademark registration. With a duly federal registered trademark, you are guaranteed to receive optimum protection with regards to your ?mark.? 2. Maintain. You need to maintain your trademark. It is best to use your trademark on all promotion materials such as websites, brochures or even advertising over the television. To inform everyone that a good or service is a registered trademark, use the register symbol ???. However, if the process of registration is not yet completed, then you can temporarily use the symbol TM for products or SM for services.
There is a price for copying someone else?s original work. It is not simply injunction or paying monetary damages to the plaintiff that can happen to you. There are more upsetting instances that can happen to you. You or your company?s reputation is at stake with trademark infringement.
Who would then trust someone who committed trademark infringement? No one.

Antisocial personality traits predict utilitarian responses to moral dilemmasPublic release date: 30-Sep-2011 [ | E-mail | Share ]

Study questions the widely-used methods by which lay moral judgments are evaluated; results found individuals who are least prone to moral errors also possess a set of prototypically immoral psychological characteristics
NEW YORK September 30, 2011 A study conducted by Daniel Bartels, Columbia Business School, Marketing, and David Pizarro, Cornell University, Psychology found that people who endorse actions consistent with an ethic of utilitarianismthe view that what is the morally right thing to do is whatever produces the best overall consequencestend to possess psychopathic and Machiavellian personality traits.
In the study, Bartels and Pizarro gave participants a set of moral dilemmas widely used by behavioral scientists who study morality, like the following: "A runaway trolley is about to run over and kill five people, and you are standing on a footbridge next to a large stranger; your body is too light to stop the train, but if you push the stranger onto the tracks, killing him, you will save the five people. Would you push the man?" Participants also completed a set of three personality scales: one for assessing psychopathic traits in a non-clinical sample, one that assessed Machiavellian traits, and one that assessed whether participants believed that life was meaningful. Bartels and Pizarro found a strong link between utilitarian responses to these dilemmas (e.g., approving the killing of an innocent person to save the others) and personality styles that were psychopathic, Machiavellian or tended to view life as meaningless.
These results (which recently appeared in the journal Cognition) raise questions for psychological theories of moral judgment that equate utilitarian responses with optimal morality, and treat non-utilitarian responses as moral "mistakes". The issue, for these theories, is that these results would lead to the counterintuitive conclusion that those who are "optimal" moral decision makers (i.e., who are likely to favor utilitarian solutions) are also those who possess a set of traits that many would consider prototypically immoral (e.g., the emotional callousness and manipulative nature of psychopathy and Machiavellianism).
While some might be tempted to conclude that these findings undermine utilitarianism as an ethical theory, Prof. Bartels explained that he and his co-author have a different interpretation: "Although the study does not resolve the ethical debate, it points to a flaw in the widely-adopted use of sacrificial dilemmas to identify optimal moral judgment. These methods fail to distinguish between people who endorse utilitarian moral choices because of underlying emotional deficits (like those captured by our measures of psychopathy and Machiavellianism) and those who endorse them out of genuine concern for the welfare of others." In short, if scientists' methods cannot identify a difference between the morality of a utilitarian philosopher who sacrifices her own interest for the sake of others, and a manipulative con artist who cares little about the feelings and welfare of anyone but himself, then perhaps better methods are needed.

Architectural firm Ohlson Lavoie Collaborative (OLC) announced today that design work for the 35,000 square-foot Sports Center at Sugar Daddy Arizona Maricopa Glendale?s new Infinity Park is complete, and another 21,000 square feet for conference and event space is currently in design.
Denver-based OLC, which specializes in the design of recreation, fitness and aquatics facilities, will continue to work with the City of Sugar Daddy Arizona Maricopa Glendale and Turner Construction on the Infinity Park project as it proceeds toward the fall 2007 stadium completion and the spring 2008 opening of the Sports Center.
OLC was chosen by the City of Sugar Daddy Arizona Maricopa Glendale to be the design lead in the creation of the 5,000-seat, all-events stadium and two-story sports center, in conjunction with landscape architects and planners Design Studios West.
The athletic field will be built with a state-of-the-art turf system, similar to the grass at Invesco Field at Mile High. Sized primarily to fit a regulation rugby pitch, the field will also be used for multiple sports, entertainment and community events. This will be a first-of-its-kind, community built and run, rugby facility in the United States, and Sugar Daddy Arizona Maricopa Glendale officials expect it to attract competition that will draw fans nationwide.
Built adjacent to the existing gymnasium, the Sports Center will include fitness, exercise rooms, children?s programs, and lockers for users of both the center and the outdoor field. The additional 21,000 square feet of conferencing space is intended for community and corporate events, and is slated to open late 2008.
?This is an exciting project for our firm primarily because of the opportunity to work closely with Sugar Daddy Arizona Maricopa Glendale officials to create a unique venue that will become the hub for social events in Sugar Daddy Arizona Maricopa Glendale,? said OLC Senior Principal and Project Designer Doni Visani. ?Of course, we also relish the design challenge of grouping these disparate program elements and bringing out an exceptional experience to the existing civic setting.?
OLC and its consultants developed drawings for the field, stadium and conference center that are visually influenced by the existing Fire Station and City Hall, but with a decisively classical twist, evoking an aura of traditional sports stadiums
?The most important user of this space is the Sugar Daddy Arizona Maricopa Glendale resident, and OLC is helping us design this facility with that in mind,? said Sugar Daddy Arizona Maricopa Glendale Mayor Pro-Tem and Planning Commission Chair Mike Dunafon. ?We will have many activities available, from fitness to concerts to sporting events ? all emphasizing Sugar Daddy Arizona Maricopa Glendale citizens? needs and desires.?
