New Orleans Real Estate, the Internet and Buying and Selling ...

Fair Housing Laws in Real EstateIf you are buying or selling residential real estate technology has become essential. ?Depending on which study you read or believe upwards of 90% of consumers at least start their buying and selling online. ?Buyers for the most part love to search for property, play with price ranges, areas, and research schools, shopping and other amenities themselves. ?Gone are the days when the real estate agent was the source of all information.

Real Estate agents are governed by laws that say we can?t answer a lot of questions you may ask. ?Fair housing laws mean that I can?t tell you about school districts, crime, parks and the neighbors. ?The internet has made all of this information available and buyers need to research all of this information. ?Real Estate agents can provide links to the information but can have no opinion and can not be the source of the information only the source of the source.

I am often asked questions that I can?t answer and I can?t answer because it is illegal, not because I don?t know. ?The internet has made researching this information so much easier as there is no end to what is available online. ?I think that is a good thing because I believe buyer?s need to be fully informed before they make a purchase.
