You should add a New Zealand golf cruise aboard a luxuriously appointed small expedition yacht, Island Passage,?to your golf vacation ?bucket list?.

This golf adventure truly is an unforgettable trip for global golf travelers!

A ?10 Day Best of New Zealand Golf Cruise??with fares from US$7,612.50 per person, takes you to a collection of New Zealand?s finest golf courses; Cape Kidnappers, Carrington, Kauri Cliffs, Kinloch, Titirangi, Wairakei and Waitangi. (Links below).

And there are still a few more scintillating golf properties that could be added to a Best of New Zealand Golf Cruise, including Gulf Harbour, the supreme Formosa Golf Resort, Muriwai, Waitangi Course, Titirangi Golf Club, Wairakei International, and the Jack Nicklaus designed Kinlock Club.?(Links below).

The sailing calendar for this particular golf cruise has March and April departures in 2012 and January, February and March sail dates in 2013.

?The 10 day Best of New Zealand Golf Cruises aboard Island Passage typically sell out a year in advance. With only a limited number of departure dates each year and carrying very small groups of just 20 fortunate golfers, it really is a good idea to book 12 to 18 months in advance? says Lori Henderson, co-owner at GolfAhoy Cruise Planners AMEX, a GSA in North America for Island Escape golf cruises.

Anthony Webber, Publisher/Editorial Director at LEISURE & TRAVEL GOLF MAGAZINE and golf travel Blogger at?iGolfTravelNews.com, says that ?Peter Bissett, Island Escapes Managing Director, is a ?hands-on? kind of owner?.

?We tend to like giving guests surprises that are over and above what is put in print. BBQ?s are one of our specialties and fresh New Zealand lamb is always on the menu?, Peter Bissett told LEISURE & TRAVEL GOLF MAGAZINE.

?The ?10 day Best of New Zealand Golf Cruise? sailing itinerary is packaged to fully utilize New Zealand?s premier links. After all, it?s not every day you are flown by helicopter off your luxury floating accommodation to the first tee?, added Bissett.

Catch a fish for dinner.

After a hard day of golf, you?re choppered back to your small ship for pre-dinner conviviality or a spot of fishing before a star chef prepared dinner.

The night is then yours to plan the next day?s golfing strategy over your choice of libations including a selection of top notch New Zealand wines.

There is such a high level of consideration to service and guest experience you?ll understandably find it difficult to leave this floating ?club house?.

Evenings evolve into a relaxing highlight of small ship cruising. Sundowners on the aft deck lead into white linen dining accompanied by shared stories of the day?s rim shots.? As the night moves on, you won?t need to remember the recipe for your favorite aperitif; the onboard bartender is well-versed in the magic of mix logy.

Fresh food for hungry golfers at the 19th hole.

Exceptional food and fine wines are an essential part of your golf cruise. Fresh air not only clears your mind, it makes you hungry. Local seafood (maybe even some you caught yourself) is often on the menu; you?ll also enjoy other delicacies and organic artisan foods produced in the local region. In the galley, the Chef works with the freshest local ingredients and delicacies to create memorable meals that reflect the day?s adventures.

The Island Passage is beautifully appointed weighing in at almost 500 tons. She?s equipped to travel to inaccessible areas while delivering the highest level of passenger comfort. On board you?ll find 12 spacious en-suite cabins, a large dining room and saloon, an alfresco bar and generous outdoor relaxing spaces.

When Island Passage was designed, the brief was to create a luxurious ?small ship? experience for a maximum of 20 guests.

Bridge Deck Suite.

Guest accommodations on Island Passage are generous.

Each cabin has an ensuite bathroom, DVD, television, individual air-conditioning and famously comfortable beds made up with 800-count Egyptian cotton sheets.

Here?s a typical day by day itinerary for a ?10 day Best of New Zealand Golf Cruise?. Round up a group of golfing buddies for a club charter and reserve a golf cruise worthy of every golfers bucket list.

In 2009 plans began to create a wildlife sanctuary, including the erection of a 2 meter high electrical rodent proof fence which surrounds the whole property.

Kiwi birds have been released along with a number of exotic native birds.

A new PRO shop and driving range have also been completed bringing Wairakei International right back up to one of the very best golfing facilities in the country.

DAY 9 MONDAY

Breakfast

Today is a round of golf at The Kinloch Club ? Jack Nicklaus? first and only signature course in New Zealand.

Only 15 minutes from Taupo.

Travel and Leisure Golf Magazine rated The Kinloch Club the best new course in 2007 outside North America.

The course takes advantage of the natural terrain created by the super volcanic Taupo eruption 26,000 years ago, which deposited pumice across a wide area. This allowed Nicklaus to build a course with Scottish links characteristics creating remarkable undulating fairways and greens.

This combination comes together in beautiful surroundings producing one of Jack Nicklaus? proudest Signature Courses.

In 2011, Sir Bob Charles, the Kiwi British Open Champion golfer, rated Kinloch the No.1 golf course that he has played.

DAY 10 TUESDAY

Breakfast

Get ready for your round at Cape Kidnappers.

This wonderfully dramatic course, set high on craggy cliffs some 140 metres (450 feet) above the sea, was designed by American Tom Doak of Renaissance Golf Design.

Arguably one of the most spectacular sites in the world, the 6,533 meter par 71 course provides a firm and fast surface for seaside golf at its finest.

In 2008 the Daily Telegraph of the UK, described Cape Kidnappersas the No.1 Golf Course in the World.

At Cape Kidnappers players may one minute be hitting shots over the tops of tea trees and then the next across a deep gully or along the edge of a deep ravine. Holes aptly named the Pirate?s Plank and the Widow?s Walk perhaps give you some indication of just how exhilarating this course is, overlooking the Hawkes Bay.

After the round you will be transferred to Napier airport by your Coach.

AirNZ turboprop flight 8426 departs at 5.55pm and after a short scenic flight up the centre of the island arrives into Auckland domestic terminal at 6.50pm.
